Lokesh’s Delhi tour focuses on edn, devp, and investment

Andhra Pradesh Education, IT, and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh began his first official visit to New Delhi by meeting key Union ministers to seek central support for the state’s development agenda. His trip highlighted the coalition government’s achievements, future priorities, and reforms in education, infrastructure, and agriculture.

In a key meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lokesh presented Andhra’s progress report, requested support for new projects, and invited Shah to the International Yoga Day event in Visakhapatnam on June 21, which PM Modi is expected to attend. Lokesh gifted Shah Yuvagalam, a book on his 3,132-km padayatra. Shah praised the initiative, CM Naidu’s leadership, and assured continued cooperation.

Lokesh also met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to discuss governance and development schemes. Dhankhar lauded Andhra’s Quantum Valley project and CM Naidu’s tech vision. Promoting education reforms, Lokesh met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, highlighting the AP Model of Education, 9,600 model schools, the LEAP initiative, and programs like “One Class–One Teacher” and Vidya Shakti. 

He emphasized digital learning, mental health support, and “No Bag Day.” Pradhan praised the efforts, agreed to attend a Mega Parents-Teachers Meet on July 5, and host an Education Ministers’ Conclave in Andhra this August. In talks with Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan, Lokesh urged investment in Rayalaseema’s horticulture and food processing units. Paswan promised support, confirmed a July visit to the region, and attendance at the Tirupati Food Incubation Centre launch.

Lokesh was accompanied by MPs P. Chandrasekhar, Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Keshineni Sivanath, S. Satish, and Basti Nagaraju, strengthening Andhra’s outreach in Delhi.
