Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu praised former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for implementing transformative policies that significantly contributed to the development of the country. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, Sridhar Babu highlighted Manmohan Singh's inspiring journey from humble beginnings to occupying the nation's highest offices.

The minister recounted that Manmohan Singh was chosen as the Finance Minister by then-Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, a decision that catalyzed India's economic reforms. He credited Singh for introducing the Employment Guarantee Scheme, which aimed to provide jobs to rural poor, and for strengthening the stock market infrastructure.

Sridhar Babu further acknowledged Dr Singh's instrumental role in launching the Right to Information (RTI) Act, which empowered citizens with greater transparency, and the Aadhar card system, designed to provide a unique identity to every Indian.
