Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday stressed the importance of governance that aligns with public opinion and urged officials to consistently improve their performance to win the trust and satisfaction of citizens.

He emphasized that people-centric governance can only be achieved if officials adapt their functioning based on regular feedback from the public.

During a Real-Time Governance System (RTGS) review meeting held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister announced that RTGS reviews would now take place every Monday to monitor the implementation of government schemes and programs.

Naidu instructed officials to enhance the implementation of the free sand policy by monitoring sand reaches through CCTV cameras and GPS-enabled vehicles. Additionally, he directed the collection of public feedback on the policy via IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems to address any discrepancies promptly.

The Chief Minister outlined plans to collect feedback from citizens using QR codes in public spaces. He instructed officials to install QR codes at all RTC bus stations and buses, allowing passengers to share their opinions on the services. Key parameters include bus punctuality, staff behavior, and overall service satisfaction.

Similarly, temples will be equipped with QR codes to gather feedback from devotees on cleanliness, amenities, queue management, and the quality of prasadam. Initially, this initiative will be implemented in seven major temples on a trial basis.

Hospitals will also adopt QR code-based feedback systems, enabling patients to provide insights on the availability of doctors, the provision of medicines, and overall cleanliness. Naidu underscored the importance of ensuring that the Rs.18,000 crore budget allocated for healthcare delivers satisfactory services to the public.

Highlighting the ongoing Rs.860 crore road repair initiative in the state, the Chief Minister called for local feedback on the quality of repairs. Officials reported that 6,228 kilometers of roads had been repaired so far, including filling potholes. Naidu urged the administration to analyze complaints and dissatisfaction to improve future work.

Feedback will also be sought from beneficiaries of schemes like the Deepam program, paddy procurement, and pension distribution. Officials were directed to use GPS technology to monitor pension deliveries and address any lapses.

Additionally, Naidu instructed officials to collect information about illegal liquor shops and take stringent action against them based on public inputs.

The GIS-based identification of public assets in the state has progressed, with the process completed in 2,044 of 15,425 panchayats. Officials assured that the remaining mapping would be finished by January.

Data collection for 47.34 lakh citizens is also underway, with the Chief Minister pushing for completion by January. Of these, 10.23 lakh children below six years of age currently lack Aadhaar cards, which will be addressed soon.

Naidu highlighted the importance of integrating technology, such as drones, to assist farmers in reducing costs and time. The Chief Minister declared that governance would accelerate in the new year with a renewed focus on technological integration and audits. “Officials must match this momentum with their dedication and efficiency,” he added.
