Medicover Cancer Institute organized a comprehensive Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on Thursday titled “Head and Neck Cancers and Advancements” in Hyderabad. The CME brought together leading experts from surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and reconstructive surgery, who discussed the latest developments in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of oral, laryngeal and thyroid cancers.
Dr. Ravi Chander Veligeti elaborated on surgical principles in oral cavity cancers, while Dr. Neelesh Kanderi highlighted evidence-based neck management approaches. Sessions on screening and prevention were led by Dr. D. Rama Raju and Dr. Naveen Kokkula, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and post-treatment rehabilitation.
A key highlight of the CME was its focus on patient-centered outcomes, ensuring not just survival but also quality of life, including speech and swallowing functions after treatment.
