State Mines and Geology and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra said on Friday that the mining sector has the potential to change the future of the state and the country. The minister participated in the review of "Unearthing Mineral Potential of AP : Exploration to Auction - A Strategic Vison" held at Novotel hotel in Vijayawada. He expressed his happiness that a special conference has been organized for the extraction of major minerals in the state .
He mentioned that Andhra Pradesh has huge reserves of major minerals like limestone, manganese, iron ore, gold, quartz and feldspeller and by taking advantage of them, the country's industrial landscape can be changed. Minister Ravindra recalled that since 2015, about 29 major minerals have been auctioned, four major minerals have been auctioned this financial year and the government is planning to auction another 70 ones. He also mentioned that it was a good development to have an arrangement with representatives of GSI, IBM, MECL .
“Through this meeting, we welcome the overall development of the state through fast track clearance and investor support. We are trying to put AP's mining sector at the top of the country. For that, we want the systems to work in a transparent manner. As part of this, we have brought free sand policy and are providing free sand to the people. “ the Minister said. He further informed that Andhra Pradesh stood in the A category and competed with states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat to achieve this position.
Mines Secretary Praveen Kumar, Geological Survey of India Director Satyannarayana Mohapatra, MECL Director Pankaj Pandey, IBM Comptroller of Mines Shailendra Kumar, Raghupathi Peddireddy and other officials were present on the occasion.
