Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha has directed officials to make extensive preparations for the upcoming Ashada Bonalu festival, scheduled in Hyderabad from June 26 to July 24.

During a meeting at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in Jubilee Hills, she was joined by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, GHMC Mayor Gadwala Vijaya Lakshmi, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Yadav, MLAs, MLCs, senior officials, and temple committee members. The gathering focused on ensuring seamless coordination across departments for the festival's success.

Konda Surekha emphasized that all 28 temples should celebrate the festival with enthusiasm. She assured that the State government has allocated Rs 20 crore for Bonalu festivities and, if necessary, would secure additional funds through Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The festival will commence at the historic Golconda temple on June 26, followed by celebrations at Balkampet, Ujjaini Mahankali, Akkanna Madanna, and Lal Darwaja temples. Traditional processions, including rangam and thottela, will be held.

Officials were instructed to complete arrangements on time, ensuring crowd management, security, and amenities for devotees. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stressed that public and temple management involvement is key to a successful Bonalu celebration.
