5-minute grace period for late arrivals to Inter exams

21-01-2026 12:00:00 AM

Students taking the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) starting on February 25 will be permitted to take the exam even if they arrive late. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) has scheduled a grace period of just five minutes for students to enter the exam centers.

This five-minute allowance, which was also in effect last year, will be applied again this year. The exams will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, with the last entry permitted at 9:05 a.m. Students are encouraged to arrive at the centers by 8:45 a.m.

The IPE is set to take place from February 25 to March 18, with a total of 1,047,815 students registered for the intermediate first and second-year programs for the academic year 2025-26.

Out of the total, approximately 996,000 students have paid their exam fees. A total of 1,495 centers have been established to facilitate the smooth running of the exams.

Before the theory exams, practical assessments for both general and vocational streams will occur from February 2 to 21.

The TG BIE will issue different hall tickets for practical and theory exams, though the hall ticket number will remain consistent for both. Similar to last year, the theory hall ticket will display a quick response (QR) code that allows students to find their respective exam centers easily. By scanning the QR code with a smartphone, students can quickly locate their exam center, see the distance, estimate the travel time, and even receive live traffic updates.
