MLA calls for SIR to be expedited

Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta has called for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls to be expedited, urging all eligible voters to actively participate in the exercise being conducted by the Election Commission.

The legislator inspected the ongoing SIR process in the city's 28th Division on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that exercising the right to vote is a fundamental responsibility in a democracy and appealed to citizens to cooperate with the revision process by completing the required enumeration forms.

MLA Suryanarayana emphasized that voters should fill out the enumeration forms accurately and submit them to their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) within the stipulated time. He noted that many people face confusion while completing the forms and instructed BLOs and political party-appointed Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to extend necessary assistance to voters during the process.

Referring to the election schedule, Suryanarayana said the Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for the SIR process from July 24 to August 3. He urged all voters in the city to take note of the revised deadline and submit their completed enumeration forms to the concerned BLOs before the last date.
