The municipal election process concluded peacefully across Nalgonda district amid tight security arrangements and extensive monitoring by the police department.
District Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS, inspected the Model Polling Station at Boyawada in Nalgonda town during polling and reviewed the security measures put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.
Elaborate arrangements were made at all polling centres to prevent any untoward incidents. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (equivalent to Section 144) were imposed in the vicinity of polling stations, prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons within polling areas.
The SP had warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the polling process or disturb law and order. Sensitive polling stations were guarded by Reserve Police, Civil Police, Striking Forces, and Special Teams to ensure foolproof security.
Continuous monitoring was carried out through CCTV cameras, video recording, drone surveillance, and webcasting throughout the polling hours. Voters were encouraged to exercise their franchise without fear.
Police maintained special vigilance until the completion of the election process. Authorities stated that the polling concluded peacefully without any major incidents reported in the district. Citizens were also advised to immediately dial 100 in case of any attempts to influence or intimidate voters during the election process.
