The KPHB police on Tuesday conducted a meeting with shopkeepers and commercial complex owners at the Housing Board Community Hall, stressing strict adherence to legal and safety norms.
Addressing the gathering, KPHB Inspector Rajasekhar Reddy said all business establishments must comply with statutory regulations without exception. He stated that shop owners and commercial establishments should mandatorily obtain GHMC permission, trade licence, GST registration, labour licence and food safety licence, wherever applicable.
The Inspector instructed traders to operate only during permitted hours and strictly follow prescribed timings. He warned that any involvement in illegal activities, including gambling on business premises, would invite stringent legal action.
Emphasising public safety, Rajasekhar Reddy directed shop owners to install CCTV cameras covering entry and exit points of their establishments. He also cautioned against encroaching on फुटpaths and roads for commercial purposes, stating that such violations cause inconvenience to the public and disrupt traffic flow.
The Inspector made it clear that details of establishments failing to comply with regulations would be forwarded to the concerned departments for cancellation of licences.
Police personnel and owners of shops and commercial complexes under the jurisdiction of KPHB Police Station attended the meeting.
