A case has been registered on Sunday against former YSRCP MLA of Macherla assembly constituency Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Pinnelli Venkatrami Reddy in connection with the twin murders which occurred on Saturday in Gundlapadu village of Palnadu district. A case has been registered against the Pinnelli brothers under Section 302 of the IPC. The case names Javisetty Srinu as A-1, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy as A-6 and Pinnelli Venkatrami Reddy as A-7.
TDP leaders leaders Javishetty Venkateswarlu and his brother Javishetty Koteswara Rao, both residents of Gundlapadu village in Veldurthi mandal were returning on a bike after attending a wedding when they were murdered allegedly by those belonging to TDP only. However, Macherla MLA Julakanti Brahma Reddy and locals alleged that former MLA Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Pinnelli Venkatrami Reddy were behind the murders. A case has been registered against seven accused and four accused are already in police custody.
At around 5 pm on Saturday evening a Scorpio vehicle came at a speeding speed and hit the bike on which Javishetty Venkateswarlu and his brother were travelling and dragged them away. It is reported that the accused killed Javishetty Koteswara Rao by hitting him with a stone. The four accused then fled the spot leaving the vehicle behind. TDP Andhra Pradesh President Palla Srinivasa Rao said that he was deeply saddened by the brutal murder of TDP activists and alleged that Pinnelli's followers were reviving faction politics again. He warned that there is no place for faction politics under the rule of present government.
