Nagar kirtan departs Hyd for Vij as part of pan-India Shaheedi Yatra

The state capital today witnessed a grand display of devotion during the 'Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan' held to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Ninth guru  Tegh Bahadur Sahib. The procession, organised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), began from Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Chawni at Kishanbagh, and departed towards Vijayawada as part of its nationwide journey.  It began from Gurdwara Dhobri Sahib, Assam, reached Hyderabad yesterday evening and today departed from Gurdwara Sahib Barambala, Sikh Chawni, en route to Vijayawada. 

Earlier, a Kirtan Darbar was held where Ragi Jathas recited Gurbani and scholars shared discourses on the life and teachings of the Ninth Guru. The Nagar Kirtan, led by the Panj Pyaras carrying the Guru Granth Sahib Ji in a decorated palki, was received with devotion by the Sikh Sangat and residents along the route. People of all faiths participated, showering flowers and offering seva, reflecting Hyderabad’s spirit of unity and diversity.

Head Granthi of  Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, Giani Raghbir Singh, and other dignitaries graced the event. Speakers highlighted Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s unparalleled sacrifice to uphold humanity. “Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice teaches us that defending faith and humanity is the highest duty.
