As part of an ongoing city-wide road safety drive, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is actively repairing potholes, catch pits, manhole covers, and central medians across Hyderabad. The initiative aims to improve road conditions and ensure safer travel for commuters, with GHMC officials, including Commissioner R.V. Karnan, closely monitoring progress.

As of Saturday, a total of 14,871 potholes have been identified across the city, of which 12,564 have been repaired. While 12,547 potholes were fixed by Friday, an additional 17 were repaired on Saturday alone, highlighting the steady pace of the repair work. The GHMC has been working to ensure that repairs are carried out quickly without causing inconvenience to the public.

Zone-wise, LB Nagar recorded 2,611 potholes repaired, Charminar zone 1,982, Khairatabad 1,693, and Serilingampally 1,405. Kukatpally zone saw 2,077 repairs, while Secunderabad led with 2,796 potholes fixed. The comprehensive effort underscores GHMC’s commitment to maintaining city roads in good condition, particularly during the monsoon season when potholes can pose serious hazards. Commissioner R.V. Karnan has urged officials to continue the repairs efficiently and ensure that all identified potholes are addressed promptly, emphasizing public safety and smooth traffic flow.
