Nampally Police have successfully recovered 70 mobile phones that were reported lost, stolen, or missing over the past three months and returned them to their rightful owners.

The operation, conducted within the Nampally police jurisdiction, utilized the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, technical surveillance, and close coordination with mobile service providers. The recovered phones are valued at approximately Rs 11 lakh.

A handover program was held on Friday at Nampally Police Station, where each phone was returned after verification of IMEI numbers, ownership documents, and FIR records.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the prompt and technology-driven efforts. The public is encouraged to report lost or stolen phones, block them, and register details on the CEIR portal to aid in traceability.

On Saturday, Rashmi Perumal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone briefed the media on the successful recovery of over 118 mobile phones through the CEIR Portal. The programme was attended by 111 complainants from various police stations under the North Zone, who received their recovered mobile phones.
