Passenger amenities in Nagarkurnool are set for a major upgrade with the construction of a modern TSRTC bus stand near the existing RTC depot. State Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar laid the foundation stone for the project on Wednesday, saying the facility would improve travel convenience and meet the growing transportation needs of the district. The proposed bus stand will feature modern waiting halls, digital passenger information systems, commercial complexes and shopping spaces, and will become Telangana's 365th RTC bus stand.

Addressing a public gathering, the Minister said the State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has been transformed from a loss-making organisation into a financially stable public transport service. He said the government has strengthened the corporation by focusing on employee welfare and introducing free bus travel for women, making public transport more accessible across Telangana.

Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said the government is committed to improving infrastructure while continuing welfare initiatives. Nagarkurnool MLA Dr. Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy said the new bus stand would strengthen the town's transport network while creating opportunities for local businesses.

During the visit, the Minister also laid the foundation stone for a CC road at Thimmajipet Bus Stand and inaugurated the Bharosa Centre and the new Regional Transport Office (RTO) building in Nagarkurnool.
