More than a week after being sworn in, the three newly inducted ministers in the Telangana Cabinet—G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Vakiti Srihari—have yet to formally assume charge at the BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, as they await an auspicious date and time.
Despite the delay in occupying their official chambers, the ministers have been actively participating in public events and official programmes across various districts, maintaining a visible presence on the ground.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has already allocated office chambers for the new ministers. Vivek Venkatswamy, who holds the portfolios of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories as well as Mines and Geology, has been allotted Room Numbers 20, 21, and 22 on the Second Floor. Vakiti Srihari, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, and Sports and Youth Services, has been given Room Numbers 26, 27, and 28, also on the Second Floor.
Adluri Laxman Kumar, in charge of Scheduled Castes Development, Tribal Welfare, Minorities Welfare, and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons, will occupy Room Numbers 13, 14, 15, and 16 on the First Floor.
Minister Vivek confirmed to this publication that he would assume office on June 20, citing it as an auspicious date. However, Adluri Laxman Kumar said he is yet to finalize his date, adding that he will do so shortly. The three ministers were inducted into the cabinet on June 8, 2025, in a move aimed at strengthening social justice and ensuring broader representation from marginalized communities. This expansion took the total cabinet strength to 15, with three berths still remaining.
On June 11, the newly inducted ministers were officially allocated their portfolios—responsibilities that were previously held by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy himself. With this, a significant administrative realignment has taken place in the government. The wait may be for a shubh muhurat, but the new ministers are already on the ground attending programmes and visiting districts making their presence felt—proof that office work may begin with rituals, but governance has no pause button.
