Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has directed that in maintaining law and order, police jurisdictions and commissionerate boundaries should not obstruct crime control efforts. Speaking at a key coordination meeting of senior officials from all three Hyderabad commissionerates, he emphasized that the ‘Zero Delay’ approach must be strictly implemented so that victims receive immediate justice and police respond instantly wherever a crime occurs.

The meeting, held at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Center in Banjara Hills, was attended by Cyberabad CP Avinash Mahanti and Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu. Senior officials discussed strategies for citywide safety, crime monitoring, and traffic management. Sajjanar stressed that criminals often commit offenses in one commissionerate and move to another, exploiting jurisdictional gaps. To prevent this, field officers must communicate seamlessly, and nearby police should act immediately regardless of commissionerate boundaries.

The CP instructed that intelligence on habitual offenders and gangsters should be shared between commissionerates, with continuous monitoring of their movements. Joint operations are to be conducted on weekends to prevent evasion, and coordinated ‘special drives’ will recover pending fines across the city. Traffic police at boundary junctions will synchronize signal timings in real time, and heavy vehicles will be restricted uniformly during peak hours.

Cyberabad CP Mahanti highlighted the need for inter-commissionerate coordination, especially in IT Corridor and Financial District areas, using CCTV and advanced technology to track offenders in real time. Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu called for joint teams to monitor old offenders and curb illegal activities like drug trafficking through effective intelligence sharing.

Commissioner Sajjanar warned, “When criminals have no borders, neither should police. Only by acting as a single force using technology can we ensure a safe Hyderabad and stop those disrupting public peace.”
