Nova IVF Fertility introduces Artificial Intelligence in IVF labs

Hyderabad: Nova IVF Fertility, Banjara Hills, has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its IVF labs to enhance precision in embryo selection and improve pregnancy outcomes.

The AI tool, Vita Embryo, helps embryologists select the most viable embryos by analyzing subtle growth patterns that might be missed by the human eye. Global studies suggest this could improve success rates by up to 12%.

Currently implemented at Nova's Banjara Hills and Kukatpally centers, AI acts as a double-checking mechanism, potentially reducing IVF cycle timelines. Dr. Hima Deepthi, Clinical Director, emphasized the need for accurate embryo selection, especially as 90% of IVF cycles at Nova use the couple’s own eggs and sperm.

To ensure transparency, Nova uses Electronic Witnessing Systems that assign unique barcodes to gametes and embryos, preventing mix-ups and enabling real-time tracking.

Dr. Durga Vytla noted a shift in patient profiles, with more couples seeking IVF due to age-related fertility decline. Women in their late 30s and 40s, and rising male infertility cases, are becoming common. There's also growing interest in egg freezing, especially among unmarried women professionals.
