Telangana paid rich tributes to Chakali Ilamma, the valiant warrior of the historic Telangana Peasants’ Armed struggle, on her birth anniversary Friday.
Leaders from all political parties paid tribute to Chakali Ilamma, commemorating her bravery and dedication in the fight against feudal oppression.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy honored Chakali Ilamma by offering floral tributes at her residence in Jubilee Hills in celebration of her birth anniversary. CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MP Raghuveer Reddy, and party leader Rohin Reddy also laid flowers at her portrait.
The 130th birth anniversary celebrations took place at Ravindra Bharati on a grand scale, with BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar serving as the chief guest. During the event, he unveiled a song and book created by Inagurthi Madhu.
Former Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao, Rajya Sabha Member Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, MLA Irlapalli Shankar, BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, Finance Commission Chairman Rajaiah, BC Corporation Chairman Nuthi Srikanth Goud, BC Commission members Tirumalagiri Surender, Balalakshmi, BC national leaders Jajula Srinivas Goud, BC Welfare Commissioner Bala Mayadevi, other important leaders and officials were present in the programme.
On the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar recalled the fighting spirit of Chakali Ilamma and said that she was a brave woman who fought against tyrannical rule for liberation for land.
