In a coordinated effort to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement around the KBR Park premises, high-level officials from various departments conducted a joint field inspection on Wednesday morning to review the proposed one-way traffic system.
The joint inspection saw the active participation of GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, Joint CP (traffic) D. Joel Davis, along with representatives from executing construction agencies and senior police officials.
The officials walked nearly five kilometers around the perimeter of KBR Park, closely inspecting the roads and major intersections. They visited key locations including Agrasen Junction, Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Jubilee Hills Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills Check Post, and the main entrance of KBR Park to study the ongoing traffic patterns.
The officials discussed the challenges encountered during the recent one-way trial run conducted as part of the 'H-City' project. Identifying that narrow road stretches at certain points were causing traffic bottlenecks during peak hours, the officials directed the GHMC staff to immediately undertake road widening works at those specific spots.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar stated that the progress of works to be executed by different departments was reviewed to ensure the successful implementation of the one-way system around KBR Park. He mentioned that officials were directed to expeditiously complete minor civil works to avoid any inconvenience to commuters. Crucially, the CP emphasised the installation of distinct lane markings and pelican signals to safeguard pedestrians crossing the roads. Furthermore, he instructed the representatives of the construction firms to accelerate the ongoing park development works.
