The Hyderabad City Traffic Police on Friday ascertained the involvement of Nagaraj, a resident of Ameerpet and native of Raichur district of Karnataka in use of fake registration number plate to his two wheeler. During inspection, it was found that the accused with an intention of misleading the authorities to avoid traffic violation fines used fake registration number plate bearing No.KA34ES3047 to his Yamaha-FZvehcile instead of actual vehicle registration No.KA03KS5500.
By using the fake registration number plate, the accused Nagaraj committed multiple traffic violations, resulting in traffic challans wrongly generated against the legitimate registered vehicle owner of vehicle No. KA34ES3047- C.M.Vivek, a resident of Bellary district in Karnataka. Accordingly, a criminal case vide FIR No.264/2026 has been registered at SR Nagar Police Station under Sections 318(4) of BNS and Sec.192 of M.V Act.
The accused Nagaraj was issued with notice under Sec.35 (3) of BNSS and further investigation is under process. The Hyderabad Traffic Police cautioned the public that the use of fake, identical or tampered number plates is a punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
