Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, said on Wednesday that those pursuing nursing courses have good employment opportunities and popularity across the globe. Speaking at a press conference he said that per the instructions of Indian Nursing Council, notification has been issued on May 27th for the Special Entrance Test (APNCET-2025) to be conducted for admissions to BSc nursing course and that the exam would be held on July 6th .
He informed that applications are being accepted upto 20th June and that there are 13,710 nursing seats in government and private colleges in the. University Registrar Dr. V. Radhika Reddy said that there is a huge shortage of nurses in the state and many people who have done nursing courses here are going to Germany and Middle East countries, especially to work there in view of the demand abroad.
“Languages of other countries are also taught in government nursing colleges. There will be an entrance test for 100 marks in the nursing set. The entrance test will be English, Nursing Aptitude, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics. People from other states will also apply, so up to 15,000 applications will come.” she said and added that while, as per the World Health Organization (WHO) standards there should be 3 nurses per 1,000 people, but we have only 1.9 nurses in our country.
Controller of Examinations Ch Srinivasa Rao said that the nursing exam will be for 100 marks in Telugu and English languages and can be written in any language. At the intermediate level, there will be questions from the state and central syllabus for Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Nursing and there will be no negative marks.
