Osmania University Police arrest accused, recover gold

The Osmania University Police apprehended a suspect involved in a house burglary case on Monday in Tarnaka. The accused, identified as Marneni Bala Dheeraj (30), a resident of Nacharam, was found in possession of approximately 14.5 tolas of stolen gold ornaments.

According to police, Dheeraj had a prior record and was earlier involved in an attempted theft case under the Tappachabutra Police Station limits.

The burglary took place on September 27, when the complainant and his family had gone to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, to drop off his son and daughter-in-law. Upon returning home, they slept in the first-floor bedroom. The next morning, the complainant discovered that his son's bedroom had been ransacked.

Further inspection revealed that a locker containing 14.5 tolas of gold and Rs 10,000 in cash had been looted by unknown intruders. A formal complaint was lodged, and the police launched an investigation.

Following the arrest of the suspect, the stolen gold was recovered. Further legal action is being pursued.
