Osmania University (OU) commenced its 109th Foundation Day celebrations with a “2K Walk” on Saturday from the Arts College to the University College of Engineering. The walk was flagged off by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kumar Molugaram, alongside Registrar Prof. G. Naresh Reddy, OSD Prof. S. Jithendara Kumar Naik, and Organizing Committee Chairpersons Prof. Sudhakar Reddy and Prof. B. Lavanya. Representatives from the NGO, technical and employee unions joined the students.
Deans, Directors, faculty, research scholars and NCC & NSS volunteers participated in the event. Addressing the gathering at the Engineering College, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram addressed the gathering, paying homage to the university’s founder Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VII Nizam of Hyderabad. “Today, we don't just celebrate a date; we celebrate a legacy of research, sacrifice, and the moulding of responsible citizens who shape our global society “, he said.
This was followed by a cultural event at the Engineering College. Student performers and volunteers captivated the audience with flash mobs and choreographed dance medleys. The 2K Walk serves as the official curtain-raiser for the Grand Foundation Day Celebrations scheduled for April 26th, at the Tagore Auditorium.
