Palestinians forced to raze homes for Israeli Biblical Theme Park

Jerusalem: Palestinians in East Jerusalem’s al-Bustan neighbourhood are demolishing their own family homes to make way for an Israeli biblical theme park, the Kings Garden. 

The Jerusalem municipality threatened residents with a 280,000-shekel (£72,000) demolition fee, making self-destruction the cheaper option, The Guardian reported. Over 57 homes have been razed in the past two years, with eight more targeted soon. Residents say international opposition has crumbled since the Oct 7, 2023 attacks and the political return of Donald Trump. “If they demolish our house, we will put up a tent. We will not leave,” said resident Mohammad Qwaider.
