Patanjali Ayurved has committed to purchasing the entire oil palm yield from farmers in Nalgonda district under a procurement agreement facilitated by the District Collector’s office on Wednesday.

The agreement was formalized during a plantation drive at Kalvalapalli, Munugodu, jointly hosted by the Horticulture Department and Patanjali. Horticulture Joint Director B. Babu planted saplings, highlighting oil palm’s high-yield potential and suitability for low-water conditions. He also advocated intercropping with ten varieties to enhance income and ecological sustainability.

District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer (DHSO) Pinnapureddy Anantha Reddy chaired the session, briefing farmers on government subsidies and benefits available under horticulture schemes. Patanjali District Manager Madhusudan Reddy reaffirmed the company's commitment to purchasing all oil palm produce, emphasizing sustainable sourcing practices.

District Collector Ila Tripathi praised the initiative and urged farmers to adopt oil palm cultivation for both financial stability and environmental conservation. Society representatives Guruji, Yarasani Narsimha Reddy, and Gade Sridhar Reddy were also present. As part of the exclusive procurement clause, farmers are required to sell only to Patanjali, which in turn ensures fair compensation. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen agribusiness prospects across the region.
