Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan has issued show-cause notices to three Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and five election supervisors over the slow progress of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) data digitisation in several Assembly constituencies. The action followed a review meeting chaired by Karnan along with GHMC Additional Commissioner (Election) B. Santosh to assess the status of SIR data digitisation, completion of Enumeration Forms and compliance with the Election Commission's schedule.

The Commissioner found the digitisation work in the Sanathnagar, Musheerabad and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly constituencies to be well below the expected standards. Show-cause notices were issued to AEROs V. Kumar (Sanathnagar), R. Pushpalatha (Musheerabad) and Hari Prasad Gupta (Secunderabad Cantonment). Five supervisors from Yakutpura, Musheerabad, Malakpet and Secunderabad Cantonment were also served notices for poor performance.

Karnan directed all Electoral Registration Officers to closely monitor digitisation, ensure accurate data entry, maintain daily progress and complete pending work within the stipulated timeline. He warned that negligence or delays in the SIR exercise would be viewed seriously and strict action would be taken against erring officials. Later, the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, along with the Hyderabad District Election Officer, GHMC Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (Election), inspected the ongoing digitisation of SIR Enumeration Forms at the Volleyball Ground and Talabasti Community Hall in the Musheerabad Assembly constituency. The team reviewed data entry quality, infrastructure and manpower, and instructed staff to ensure timely, error-free digitisation in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
