Prajakta Koli’s Marathi film debut

Prajakta Koli debuts in Marathi cinema with Hemant Dhome’s film highlighting the decline of Marathi-medium schools in Maharashtra

Popular digital creator and actor Prajakta Koli, known to fans as MostlySane, is all set to make her debut in Marathi cinema with the upcoming film Krantijyoti Vidyalay - Marathi Madhyam. Directed by Hemant Dhome, the film focuses on the important issue of the declining number of Marathi-medium schools in Maharashtra.

The movie was shot earlier this year in Alibaug and aims to highlight the cultural and educational challenges faced by the Marathi-speaking community. The film is produced by Chalchitra Mandalee, the production house of actor Kshitee Jog.

Speaking about her debut, Prajakta said, “Moving from the digital space to Bollywood was an incredible experience, but stepping into Marathi cinema feels like coming home. The language, the culture, and the stories we tell here hold a special place in my heart.”

Director Hemant Dhome, who studied in Raigad himself, shared his excitement about shooting in the same region. “This story is very close to me. The audience has already shown great interest, and now that filming is complete, we are confident the film will offer something fresh and meaningful,” he said.

Krantijyoti Vidyalay - Marathi Madhyam features a talented ensemble cast, including Sachin Khedekar, Amey Wagh, Siddharth Chandekar, Kshitee Jog, Kadambari Kadam, Harish Dudhade, and Pushkaraj Chirputkar.
