Protect environment, plant more trees: SP

Stressing the need to protect the environment, Jayashankar Bhupalpally Superintendent of Police Sirishetty Sankeerth said safeguarding nature is a shared social responsibility.

Participating in the Vanamahotsavam programme on Tuesday, the SP planted saplings at the District Police Headquarters and urged people to actively support the green initiative. Addressing police personnel and officials, he said every citizen should plant and nurture trees to ensure a clean, healthy and green environment for future generations.

He appealed to the public to take part in Vanamahotsavam in large numbers and contribute to increasing the region's green cover. The SP said planting trees alone is not enough and emphasized the importance of protecting them for sustainable environmental conservation. Additional SP Naresh Kumar, Bhupalpally DSP Sampath Rao, Reserve Inspectors, police officers and personnel participated in the plantation programme.
