Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy delivered a detailed address highlighting key concerns in education, irrigation, and infrastructure, while also outlining the government’s reform agenda in Assembly on Sunday.

On education, he criticized the previous administration for neglecting public education and healthcare over the past decade. He pointed out severe imbalances in teacher distribution, lack of infrastructure in government schools, and the growing preference for private institutions. Despite a 40% increase in mess charges, he noted that food quality remains poor and called for stronger monitoring systems. He urged the government to allocate higher budgetary resources to education and ensure accountability. He appreciated the “Young India Integrated Schools” initiative as a transformative step with international standards.

On irrigation, he stated that Congress had originally designed several projects benefiting lakhs of acres, but alleged that redesign decisions under K. Chandrashekar Rao led to massive debts without delivering irrigation benefits. He criticized project delays and poor planning, particularly in Pranahita Chevella and Dindi projects. He appreciated efforts under N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to bring water through new initiatives and stressed prioritizing projects that can be completed quickly. He also demanded equitable fund allocation across constituencies.

He recalled contributions of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in irrigation development and urged speedy completion of pending canal works.

On roads, he emphasized the need for safer infrastructure, suggesting improvements in accident-prone areas under HAM projects, land acquisition for dangerous curves, and appointment of independent engineers for monitoring.

He asserted that the present government is committed to transparency, financial discipline, and fulfilling promises despite fiscal challenges.
