Taapsee Pannu takes a subtle dig at Kangana Ranaut after her ‘Sasti copy’ remark, following the actress’ comments on their respective upbringings

Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut’s long-running war of words has resurfaced, with the actresses exchanging indirect jibes over their differing views on each other. The latest chapter began after Taapsee revisited their feud in a recent interview, saying their contrasting opinions reflect their respective upbringings and ways of perceiving things.

Soon after, Kangana hit back at Taapsee, calling her a ‘Sasti copy’ and taking a dig at her upcoming Netflix film Gandhari. Kangana also dragged Taapsee’s parents into the argument before subsequently deleting the posts.

Taapsee’s cryptic post

Taapsee appeared to respond to Kangana’s remarks without directly naming her. On Sunday, the actress took to her Instagram Stories and posted a brief message that read, “Hence, proved.”

While Taapsee did not specify what she was referring to, the timing of the post came shortly after Kangana’s remarks, leading to speculation that it was a response to the controversy.

Kangana calls Taapsee a ‘Sasti copy’

Taapsee’s comments prompted Kangana to respond on Instagram. Without naming Taapsee directly, the actress wrote that a “Sasti copy” was out promoting an upcoming “B grade film” and accused her of crossing a line by commenting on her upbringing and parents.

Kangana wrote, “One Sasti copy is out and about with her upcoming B grade film but as usual only headline point with the media is Kangana Ranaut.”

She further questioned Taapsee’s parents, asking why they “couldn’t birth someone original like my parents did”, and added that she felt “sorry for your efforts”.

Kangana later deleted the Instagram Stories containing the remarks. The reason for the deletion remains unclear.

Kangana defends her upbringing

In the same series of remarks, Kangana claimed that Taapsee was not the only person who had questioned her upbringing. She criticised people who, according to her, 

came from “shady, cramped-up outskirts of cities” and “dingy rented apartments” with “questionable backgrounds and incomes” for maligning her parents and upbringing.

Kangana also highlighted her family background, stating that her parents came from a “renowned Rajput zamindar Family” and were raised by educated and distinguished parents. She questioned why her decision to begin her career from scratch was being used against her family, describing it as a personal choice. She also asked, “Why attack my parents for that? Where is this hubris coming from?”
