Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the status of paddy procurement, monsoon preparedness, state formation day celebrations and various developmental programs on Tuesday.
In a high-level video conference with ministers, collectors, and senior officials, the Chief Minister appreciated the extraordinary efforts of the administration, noting that this season has seen a record-breaking procurement of 64.5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, the highest in the state's history. So far, 90% of the procurement has been completed, and the government has disbursed Rs. 12,184 crore to farmers. Unprecedentedly, farmers are receiving payment within 48 hours of procurement, ensuring timely financial support. However, the early arrival of monsoon—15 days ahead of schedule has complicated the remaining procurement process, he said.
Revanth instructed officials to resolve any bottlenecks immediately, hire local godowns where necessary, and take strict action against millers or agents who harass farmers. He also warned against politically motivated false propaganda. Referring to isolated incidents, he noted that some are wrongly attributing natural deaths of farmers to procurement delays. The CM urged real-time, transparent reporting by collectors and directed them to act swiftly on any misinformation and rectify administrative lapses without delay. “Every minute counts. Don’t waste time or show negligence,” he asserted.
CM instructed officials to ensure availability of seeds and fertilizers tailored to local cropping patterns and prevent any disruption to the sowing season. He issued a stern warning against the sale of fake seeds, directing enforcement of stringent measures, including the PD Act, where necessary. He also called for awareness campaigns to educate farmers on the risks of counterfeit seeds.
Collectors were advised to undertake regular field visits, monitor grassroots issues, and appoint special officers in each district to oversee implementation. The CM stressed practical, ground-level problem-solving and urged officials to address challenges proactively.
Land reforms, Housing, and Price Control measures
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to popularize the ‘Bhu Bharati’ land records system, especially among poor farmers. He directed officials to conduct awareness programs and bring the Bhu Bharati Act closer to the people. From June 3 to June 20, the state will conduct Revenue Sadassulu to address land-related grievances.
On the Housing front, the CM described Indiramma Houses as a critical welfare measure and stressed their proper implementation at the field level. He encouraged the use of new construction technologies and directed that district in-charge ministers visit their respective districts on May 29 and 30. A comprehensive progress report is expected by June 1.
To tackle rising construction material costs, the CM announced the formation of mandal-level Price Control Committees, with strict monitoring of mason charges, crusher rates, and the timely distribution of free sand coupons.
State Formation Day celebrations
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed all district Collectors to celebrate Telangana State Formation Day on June 2 in a grand manner, symbolizing unity, pride, and progress. He urged officials to act with urgency, responsibility, and compassion, ensuring effective governance and uninterrupted service to the people of Telangana.
