Security sought for muharram : Firasath all baqri meets dgp.cv anand, ips

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party Former State Spokesperson, Telangana, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, met with Director General of Police, Telangana State, C V Anand IPS, to submit a Detail representation requesting enhanced security arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Muharram 2026. The meeting took place at the Telangana State Police Headquarters in Hyderabad. During the interaction, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri held an in-depth discussion with the DGP regarding comprehensive security planning at Ashoorkhanas across the state from 16th June 16 to 23rd August spanning 68 days of religious observance.

The representation highlighted the need for deployment of specialized police forces such as the Task Force, Special Branch, Special Operation Team (SOT), and SHE Teams during the Muharram period to ensure peace, safety, and smooth conduct of processions. Key events discussed during the meeting included the 10th Muharram procession on  26th June, Arbaeen procession on 4th August & Chup Taziya on  22nd August and Eid-e-Zehra on 23rd August. Mir Firasath Ali Baqri emphasized the historical and spiritual importance of these observances and urged the state police to make necessary arrangements well in advance.

He also appreciated DGP Telangana C V Anand, IPS. prompt response, patience in hearing concerns, and his commitment to maintaining law and order during significant religious events. "The DGP’s proactive support and open communication are truly inspiring and reassuring to the community," said Baqri following the meeting. The representation is part of Mir Firasath Ali Baqri’s continued efforts to advocate for communal harmony and ensure religious events in Telangana are conducted in a peaceful and organized manner. The DGP assured the delegation that all necessary security protocols would be reviewed and that the safety of citizens during Muharram observation will remain a top priority for the state police.
