Lokesh launches Rs 6.3 crore development works

Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday laid the foundation stone for a series of development and restoration works worth Rs 6.3 crore at the historic Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Mangalagiri.

Lokesh was accorded a traditional Purna Kumbham welcome by temple priests and officials before performing the Bhumi Puja for the construction of a new Yagasala, reconstruction of the Vahanasala and Ghanta Mandapam, and restoration of the historic Sri Krishnadevaraya Mandapam. He also unveiled the foundation plaque and reviewed the architectural plans for the proposed works.

The Minister later offered special prayers to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and Rajyalakshmi Ammavaru, receiving Vedic blessings and temple honours from the priests. The Minister called for improved amenities, uninterrupted darshan arrangements and measures to strengthen the temple’s Nitya Prasadam programme. He also inspected the temple Pushkarini and suggested improvements for its maintenance and beautification.

Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan, Temple Executive Officer Koganti Sunil Kumar, members of the temple trust board and several public representatives attended the programme.

He instructed authorities to ensure that all renovation works adhere to the temple’s traditional architectural style and religious customs. Stressing the importance of pilgrim convenience, the Minister called for improved amenities, uninterrupted darshan arrangements and measures to strengthen the temple’s Nitya Prasadam programme. He also inspected the temple Pushkarini and suggested improvements.
