Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy  visited the Devadula Lift Irrigation Project (JCRDLIS) at Tupakulagudem in Mulugu district on Sunday. He reviewed the progress of the work on the occasion.

Later, he spoke to the media. He said that the Godavari river water dispute had been politically charged for some years. He also said that if the projects had been completed in the last ten years, there would not have been any dispute between the two Telugu states now . Noting  that Rs. 1.10 lakh crores were spent on the Kaleshwaram project alone by the BRS led state government, Reddy alleged that the rest of the projects were neglected by the same regime .

“Now there is a serious shortage of funds for the rest of the projects and land acquisition. However, the state government is determined to overcome all the difficult circumstances and complete all the projects in the next two to three years. The Devadula project, which was started with an estimate of Rs. 6 thousand crores, has now reached the stage where it requires Rs. 18 thousand crores. We will complete all the pending projects in the state in the next two years,” he said  . CM Revanth Reddy revealed that they would irrigate every acre in Telangana.

“When Telangana was formed as an independent state, the situation was good. There was plenty of water and funds. The situation became untenable due to the selfish politics of the BRS party leaders for ten years. They spent one lakh crores rupees on a single project for commissions. All the projects in the entire state were left to chance.

The project built at a cost of one lakh crores collapsed before it was considered great. Even though the water under Kaleshwaram has not been lifted, the state is producing the highest rice yield. We gave clarity in the Assembly on the transfer of Krishna river waters. We discussed at length on what happened in the United state and later in Telangana.

We explained to the people the mistakes made during the BRS regime and the negligence of the rulers. People realized that KCR and Harish Rao made mistakes,” he noted . CM Revanth Reddy said that the verdict in the municipal elections was given to throw out all the big  leaders of the BRS party.

“Now I am challenging you again. Let us discuss in the House what they did during the ten years of BRS rule. What we did in two and a half years. Let us explain to the people in a full house what they did. It is okay if they do not want criticism or any criticism. If they give advice and suggestions with ten years of experience, we will accept them. Ultimately, let us all work together to do good for the state. Let us do politics only during elections. Let us all be united in the matter of Telangana water,” he said.
