Revanth seeks Defence land for Gandhi Sarovar Project

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday at the latter’s official residence in New Delhi to discuss the ambitious Gandhi Sarovar project, a transformative initiative proposed by the Telangana government. During the meeting, the Chief Minister formally requested the transfer of 98.20 acres of defence land to facilitate the development of this landmark project at the confluence of the Musi and Isa rivers in Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy emphasized the significance of the project, highlighting its role in transforming Hyderabad into a global destination. He also shared plans for the “Gateway of Hyderabad,” a proposed world-class tower at the Gandhi Sarovar site, which is expected to enhance the city’s skyline and boost tourism. The project aligns with the Telangana government’s broader vision to develop Hyderabad as a hub of culture, innovation, and sustainable urban development.

The Chief Minister briefed the Defence Minister on the strategic importance of the defence land transfer to ensure the seamless execution of the project. The 98.20 acres of land are critical to completing the infrastructure and realizing the full scope of the Gandhi Sarovar vision.

The meeting was attended by MPs P Balaram Naik, Kadiyam Kavya, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Musi River Development Corporation Managing Director E.V. Narasimha Reddy, and Central Projects and Schemes Coordinator Dr. Gaurav Uppal.
