metro india news  I hyderabad :

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, his cabinet colleagues and leaders of the ruling Congress on Wednesday participated in a 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' protest here over the Adani issue and also against "Prime Minister Narendra Modi not visiting violence-hit Manipur". The protest was organised by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee  (TPCC) led by its president Mahesh Kumar Goud as per a call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

The protest rally began from the Indira Gandhi statue near Hussain Sagar Lake and reached Raj Bhavan. The allegations against industrialist Gautam Adani in the US have hurt the country's image, it claimed, adding that Modi has not visited Manipur despite the violence in the state. On the occasion, Congress leaders in large numbers reached the Raj Bhavan on foot from Necklace Road, raising slogans against Industrialist Gautham Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is not visiting violence-hit Manipur State. They demanded that these issues be discussed in Parliament.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that Adani companies had offered bribes in America and the US government had initiated an action against him.

"There should be an investigation against Adani, who has tarnished the image of the country. The JPC should lead the investigation into the episode," Revanth Reddy demanded.

"The Centre is not ready to discuss Adani's corruption and form a JPC. If it does, Adani will have to go to jail. Prime Minister Modi is trying to save him. If a JPC is not formed on this issue, we will stage a dharna at Rashtrapati Bhavan," he cautioned.

The Chief Minister further alleged that the BRS party has surrendered to BJP to avoid arrests in various cases and that is the reason, it is not speaking against Adani. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi- BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao are not different. Both are like a coin. If the BRS has sincerity, it should demand a JPC on Adani's corruption," Revanth Reddy said.

He cautioned that if Prime Minister Modi does not break his silence, the Congress leaders will stage a dharna in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
