Metro India News | Hyderabad

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday launched and laid foundation stones for a series of development works worth Rs 1,674.74 crore in the newly formed Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits and reiterated the State Government’s commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a globally competitive metropolitan city.

Addressing the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika public meeting at Miyapur, the Chief Minister said Hyderabad was among the six major cities driving India’s economy alongside Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. While other metropolitan cities face challenges such as pollution, flooding and severe traffic congestion, Hyderabad continues to expand rapidly, requiring planned and future ready urban development, he said.

Defending the government’s decision to reorganize urban administration, Revanth Reddy said the Hyderabad metropolitan region had been divided into three municipal corporations purely for administrative efficiency and to meet future growth requirements. He stated that the new boundaries were designed to ensure better coordination between municipal and police authorities.

The Chief Minister called upon people to rise above political affiliations and work collectively for the city’s development. He highlighted several welfare initiatives of the State Government, including Young India Residential Schools, Telangana Public Schools, breakfast for students, free bus travel for women and economic empowerment programs for women through Indira Mahila Shakti.

Launching a sharp attack on Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana BJP , Revanth Reddy questioned why BJP MPs were not pressing the Union Government for greater financial support to the State. The Chief Minister also announced plans to construct an international bus terminal on 100 acres at Gajularamaram and said work would commence within three months. Among the major projects launched were the Rs 530 crore Miyapur Junction flyover, Rs 308 crore Serilingampally ROB, Rs 200 crore Young India Integrated School, Rs 161 crore CMC headquarters building and several key road connectivity and infrastructure works across the Cyberabad region.

HMDA strengthens Hyderabad Connectivity

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has completed the Rs 65.53 crore Bachupally Flyover, a 1.3 km four lane structure aimed at easing traffic between Miyapur Crossroads and Gandimaisamma, reducing travel time and improving road safety. HMDA is also moving ahead with two key infrastructure projects: a Rs 229 crore bridge and service road project near ORR Exit No.18A over the Musi River, and a Rs 26.5 crore ORR main carriageway expansion from Nanakramguda to Gachibowli to improve connectivity to the Financial District and IT corridor.
