Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) National President and Union Minister of State for Skill development and Education Jayant Choudhary on Sunday asserted that the RLD in Telangana state would play the role of a constructive Opposition party. At the same time, he has assured that the Centre would extend its cooperation to the government in youth and farmers welfare programmes.

Inaugurating the state unit of the RLD and its office here, Jayant Chowdhary said that RLD has all the responsibility as a political party as it is part of the NDA government at the Centre and Opposition party in Telangana state. He said that the RLD played a key role in the separate Telangana state movement between 2012-14 and recalled that he himself had participated in the movement.

He said RLD will grow from strength to strength in Telangana state and urged upon the RLD members, activists and sympathisers in Telangana state to fight for social justice. He said he has immense faith in the leadership of former MLC and State RLD State President K Dileep Kumar. He hoped that people will come to RLD office here to get their problems solved.

Jayant Choudhary appreciated the state government for instituting awards in the name of Balladeer Gadar and recalled the imported role played by the late Singer. He urged people from other states like Rajasthan, Haryana and UP who are living in Telangana state live in unity and helping one another along with the locals.

Telangana state RLD President and former MLC K Dileep Kumar reiterated that RLD is a party dedicated to the welfare of farmers. He said RLD is fighting for social justice continuously from its inception. He regretted that the Telangana state which was achieved after a lot struggle has not witnessed any development or change. There is a need to march the state on the path of development and progress. People’s aspirations have not been fulfilled in Telangana state. This is precisely the reason why RJD is building itself from grass roots in Telangana state.

RLD national women’s wing president Indira said that the aspirations of the people remain unfulfilled in Telangana and called for rebuilding the RLD to realise those goals. Others present at the event included RLD working president Kinnera Siddharth, Giri Kunde, Vishal Vanjari, Mallesh Goud, Rushabh Jain, Omkar Goud, Madakam Prasad, Nune Bhaskar Rao, Narasimha Rao, and Kore Sai Ram.
