Badrinath Dham, one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism and a key site in the Char Dham Yatra, reopened its sacred gates (kapats) on Thursday morning, marking the start of the pilgrimage season for devotees. The ceremony was performed in the presence of Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati '1008' Ji, with Vedic mantras echoing as the traditional door worship (dwar puja) was completed.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the chairman of the Badrinath Temple Committee were also present during the auspicious occasion, underscoring the state's support for the sacred event. The temple doors opened at 6:15 AM on Vaishakh Shukla Saptami, as per the predetermined auspicious muhurat.

This marked the fourth consecutive year that the revered Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath (Jyotishpeeth) titled Paramaradhya Paramdharmadheesh Uttaramnaya Jyotishpeethadheeshwar Anantshri Vibhushit Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati '1008', graced the kapat opening ceremony of Badrinath Temple.

On the occasion, the Shankaracharya Ji addressed the gathering, stating that with the opening of the temple gates, all followers of Sanatan Dharma will now have the opportunity to seek the divine blessings (darshan) of Lord Badri Vishal for the next six months. The information was shared by Sanjay Pandey, media in-charge to Shankaracharya Maharaj.
