SIR training held for election officials

A training programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was conducted through video conference at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Friday in the presence of Chief Electoral Officer Shri C. Sudharsan Reddy, IAS, and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vasam Venkateswar Reddy, IAS.

The programme was aimed at strengthening the election machinery through capacity building and was attended by District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and BLO Supervisors across the State.

Addressing the officials, the CEO stressed the importance of ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls while preventing the inclusion of ineligible voters. He directed officials to conduct the SIR process in a transparent and error-free manner. He also explained the objectives of the training and outlined the roles and responsibilities of DEOs, EROs, AEROs, BLO Supervisors and BLOs, along with IT-related activities in the SIR process.

During the session, the State Nodal Officer explained the constitutional and statutory provisions related to the SIR and elaborated on the procedures and steps involved in the revision process.

The Project Manager (IT) briefed participants on ECINET modules, pre-draft and post-draft phases of SIR, the BLO App, technical aspects and the process of filling Enumeration Forms. Queries raised by participants were also clarified during the session.

The video conference was attended by the Commissioner of GHMC and DEO of Hyderabad district, District Collectors and District Election Officers from across the State, besides EROs, AEROs and BLO Supervisors. Dy CEO (FAC), State Nodal Officers of the CEO office and other staff members also participated in the programme.
