Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu stated that certain vested interests are intentionally disseminating misinformation about the real estate sector in Telangana to tarnish the reputation of the Congress government.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Times Home Hunt Property Expo 2025’ at HITEX Exhibition Center on Saturday, Sridhar Babu strongly countered the misinformation campaign suggesting a slowdown in the real estate sector under the Congress government. ‘Some vested interests are deliberately spreading false propaganda. I urge them to open their eyes and look at the actual data,’ he said.

Highlighting recent economic indicators, the Minister said the real estate and professional services sector recorded a 15.4 percent growth rate in FY 2024–25 and the construction sector grew by 11.97 percent, contributing nearly Rs.80,000 crore to Telangana’s economy. Real estate accounts for 24.9 percent of the State’s service economy. As of now, 9,744 projects are registered under RERA. These are not mere numbers. They are a factual rebuttal to those falsely claiming that the sector is slowing down under our administration,’ he remarked.

The Minister also cited the Knight Frank India report, noting that in February 2025 alone, 5,900 homes were registered in Hyderabad and properties valued at Rs.1 crore and above accounted for 18 percent of all registrations. ‘The annual growth rate in this premium segment stood at an impressive 58 percent. On the government’s housing initiatives, we are committed to providing Indiramma houses to all eligible citizens in a phased manner. In the first phase, 4.16 lakh houses have already been sanctioned. This initiative reflects our resolve to ensure that every family lives with dignity,’ Sridhar Babu said.
