An American man, identified as Michael Alexander Gloss, the 21-year-old son of a high-ranking CIA official, was killed in eastern Ukraine in April 2024 while fighting under contract for the Russian military, an investigation by independent Russian media has revealed, as reported by The Guardian.

Gloss was the son of Juliane Gallina, who was appointed the Deputy Director for Digital Innovation at the Central Intelligence Agency in February 2024. His death on April 4, 2024, in "Eastern Europe" was noted in a family obituary, which did not mention his involvement in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
