Inter-state drug peddling racket busted by Special Operation Team of LB Nagar and Abdullapurmet police of Rachakonda Commissionerate and seized 20kgs of hashish oil worth Rs 1.2 crore from arrested accused.
Arrested men identified as Pangi Keshava Rao (40), resident of Kennaraloya village Alluri Sita Ramaraju district in Andhra Pradesh and Jayaram Khemundu (26), resident of Bellguda village in Koraput district in Odisha.
Both the accused are friends who got involved in drug trafficking to earn easy money. They were found to be procuring hashish oil from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, transporting it via Hyderabad to supply buyers in Bengaluru. Hyderabad is being used as a transit route.
Investigation revealed that Krishna (30), resident of Guntaseema village of Alluri Sita Ramaraju district, absconded, is the main source and a childhood friend of Pangi Keshava Rao, introduced him to the illicit drug trade, with a promise of huge profits. Jairam Khemundu later became acquainted with Krishna and joined the illegal activity. The accused Keshava Rao had been previously arrested in a NDPS case by Anakapally Town Police, Andhra Pradesh.
