Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, extended an invitation to industrialists from the U.S. State of Utah to explore investment opportunities in Telangana. He highlighted that the state has become a national leader in Ease of Doing Business and emphasized that the Telangana government is focused not just on attracting investments, but also on fostering long-term value creation, co-creation, and sustainable global partnerships.
A high-level delegation from Utah, led by David Carlebach, Managing Director and COO of World Trade Center–Utah, met with Minister Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat on Friday. The delegation included experts from sectors such as aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, technology, AI-based healthcare, life sciences, clean energy, education, and innovation.
The discussions focused on potential areas of bilateral cooperation between Utah and Telangana, including innovation, technology transfer, joint research, and skill development. Sridhar Babu delivered an in-depth presentation on Telangana’s industrial policies, highlighting investor-friendly reforms, sector-specific advantages, and a range of incentives available to industries. He stressed the state's goal of advancing beyond traditional investment-driven growth to building global value chains, innovation-driven ecosystems, and generating sustainable employment.
The Minister also encouraged the delegation to foster connections between Utah’s Silicon Slopes, the World Trade Center–Utah, and Telangana’s innovation hubs like T-Hub, T-Works, and WE-Hub. He proposed that academic institutions in Telangana collaborate with universities in Utah, including the University of Utah, Brigham Young University (BYU), and Neumont University, to jointly explore research and academic programs, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
In response, Carlebach expressed Utah's eagerness to collaborate with Telangana, a fast-growing and progressive state, looking forward to deepening the partnership in the coming months. The delegation also included notable figures such as Utah House Representatives Jason Thompson, Matt McPherson, and Nicole McPherson, along with leaders from various sectors.
