SRM University-AP, Amaravati, has announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art Quantum Secure Communications Test Bed in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and Amaravati Quantum Valley, marking a major step in Andhra Pradesh’s push towards advanced quantum technologies and cyber security infrastructure.
The initiative comes under the broader vision of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to strengthen the state’s capabilities in quantum technologies, cyber resilience and future communication systems. The project gains importance at a time when governments, financial institutions and regulatory bodies across the world are preparing for emerging cyber threats posed by advancements in Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
The university said the Quantum Security Test Bed will focus on developing secure communication systems and advanced cyber-space protection technologies capable of withstanding future quantum-enabled cyber attacks. The initiative was announced on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on May 17.
SRM University-AP stated that the collaboration with C-DOT and Amaravati Quantum Valley would help build next-generation secure digital infrastructure and contribute to India’s long-term technological preparedness in strategic communications and cyber security.
The institution also highlighted its pioneering role in India’s quantum research ecosystem, noting that it was the first university in the country to establish a dedicated quantum laboratory. With advanced infrastructure, global academic partnerships and expanding research capabilities, SRM University-AP is positioning itself as a major centre for quantum science and deep-tech innovation in India.
