Suspension of Aadhar services causing hardships

Aadhaar services have been suspended in Kesamudram mandal of Mahabubabad district, causing inconvenience to thousands of residents who now have to travel to neighboring towns for essential Aadhaar-related services. A permanent enrolment center was initially established at the Tahsildar's office in Kesamudram, where a dedicated room was constructed to facilitate Aadhaar registrations and updates. After operating for some time, the center was shifted to the Telephone Exchange premises. However, those services were later discontinued.

Subsequently, a new Aadhaar center was opened at the Kesamudram Sub Post Office and continued to offer services until recently. According to official sources, Aadhaar operations at the center were suspended after irregularities were reportedly detected in certain enrolment records entered by the operator. Following the findings, the operator's Aadhaar credentials were suspended, resulting in the closure of the centre.

The closure has affected over 60,000 people, who are now forced to visit either the Mahabubabad district headquarters, located about 18 kilometres away, or Inugurthi, approximately 11 kilometres from Kesamudram, to complete even routine Aadhaar transactions. Local residents have urged the authorities to immediately restore a permanent Aadhaar enrolment and update center in Kesamudram to reduce hardship for the public.

They say the lack of a functional Aadhaar center has become challenging as Aadhaar authentication is required for various government services, including ongoing registration drives, crop loan applications, agricultural assistance, mobile number updates, and other welfare-related services. Responding to the issue, officials said that the matter will be brought to the notice of higher authorities, and efforts will be made to resume Aadhaar services as soon as possible so that the public does not face further inconvenience.
