TASK and EQUIPPP roll out social tech fellowship

EQUIPPP and the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), under the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C), Government of Telangana, have partnered to launch the EQUIPPP Fellows Program, a first of its kind initiative aimed at creating a new generation of field ready Social Tech Professionals.

The programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical implementation by combining structured classroom training with real world field deployments. Under the partnership, TASK will identify, assess and train candidates using a specialised curriculum developed by EQUIPPP before deploying them as EQUIPPP Fellows.

The fellowship offers a six to twelve month hybrid learning experience that integrates classroom sessions, technology based training and hands on project implementation. Fellows will receive a stipend during the programme and may be considered for full time employment upon successful completion.

The initiative seeks to develop professionals capable of supporting governments, CSR foundations, non-profit organisations, social enterprises and development institutions in planning and implementing Public Private Partnership and social impact projects.

With India's annual Corporate Social Responsibility spending exceeding Rs 25,000 crore and more than 34 lakh registered non-profit organisations, demand is rising for professionals who can combine development expertise with technology driven implementation. As governments and social sector institutions increasingly adopt digital platforms, artificial intelligence and data driven governance, Social Tech Professionals are emerging as a promising new career category.

The TASK and EQUIPPP partnership aims to equip Telangana's youth with industry relevant skills, practical experience and employment opportunities while supporting the state's vision of becoming a national leader in future ready skills and strengthening India's expanding development ecosystem.
