The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has announced plans to set up 10 exclusive “Centres of Excellence” for cricket in various parts of the state, aiming to provide advanced training and infrastructure for aspiring players.
Speaking at the ‘Telangana Cricketers Meet’ held at the IMA Hall in Warangal on Sunday, TCA president Dharam Gurva Reddy said the initiative is part of a long-term vision to strengthen cricket development in Telangana.
During the event, players and attendees passed a unanimous resolution
seeking action against the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), accusing it of being plagued by corruption and neglecting state cricket interests. Mr. Reddy alleged that HCA had failed to comply with BCCI’s July 2021 collaboration directives and had not finalized outcomes from a court-mandated discussion held on March 29, 2025, despite orders from the Bombay High Court.
The TCA is now seeking full membership in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), moving beyond mere collaboration with HCA. Mr. Reddy urged political parties and public representatives to support this cause collectively.
The meeting was organized by TCA State Treasurer Dr. P. Vijay Chander Reddy and coordinated by T. Jayapal, Secretary of TCA Warangal District. Among those present were Dr. Ponnala Jagan, Samee, Md. Zakir Hussain, Stephen, Sharath Yadav, Md. Mohin, Kaluvala Shiva, Bhaskar, Navarasan, Shashank, along with senior cricketers and cricket enthusiasts.
