The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is all set to host its prestigious annual conclave, Mahanadu, in Kadapa from May 27 to 29, with massive preparations underway to accommodate thousands of party representatives, leaders, and supporters. Touted as a pivotal gathering after a massive victory in 2024 polls, this year’s Mahanadu will serve as a platform for significant organisational decisions, ideological reaffirmation, and the unveiling of the party's future roadmap.

Spanning three days, the event is expected to be a turning point in the party’s evolution, with the release of six key policy formulas and proposed amendments to the TDP’s internal rules and regulations. The Mahanadu will kick off at 8:30 AM on May 27 with the registration of party delegates. This will be followed by the inauguration of a photo exhibition and a blood donation camp—initiatives aimed at highlighting the party’s social commitment.

At 10:30 AM, TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with politburo members and senior leadership, will take the stage. The party flag will be hoisted, a ceremonial lamp will be lit, and rich floral tributes will be offered to the party’s founder and iconic leader, the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR).

The official proceedings will begin with the soulful rendition of Maa Telugu Talliki, followed by a condolence tribute to deceased party leaders and cadres. The State general secretary will present his report, after which the State unit president will extend a formal welcome. The treasurer will submit the financial report before Chandrababu Naidu delivers the highly anticipated inaugural address at 11:50 AM.

A centerpiece of this year’s Mahanadu will be the release of a six-formula resolution—crafted by TDP national general secretary and Minister Nara Lokesh—which is being hailed as a forward-looking framework in tune with the changing political landscape.  The Activist is the Leader – Focus on grassroots empowerment through robust organisational structure, the Karyakarta Sadhikara Samakhya (KSS), the Qubes initiative, and the ‘My TDP’ digital app.

Yuva Galam (Youth Voice) – Policies to enhance youth welfare, attract investments, create jobs, decentralize development, promote backward region upliftment, and integrate technology into public governance through tools like WhatsApp-based governance.

Global Identity for Telugu People – Celebrating Telugu pride and legacy, with NTR’s reformist legacy and TDP’s contributions over 40 years, including social representation and landmark political victories. Women Power – Commitment to women’s safety, empowerment, and welfare as a pillar of the party’s governance model.

Social Justice and Prosperity for the Poor – Pursuing a poverty-free Andhra Pradesh through P-4 (People, Prosperity, Progress, and Participation), with accessible housing, healthcare, and education—all converging towards the Swarnandhra Vision 2047. Support to Farmers – Promotion of tech-enabled farming, rapid construction of irrigation projects, and reforms in the power sector to ensure agricultural sustainability.

The first day’s deliberations will include a detailed discussion on the party’s core principles and the structural and ideological reforms proposed under these six formulas. The party will also issue the notification for the election of its national president at 1 PM.

Post-lunch sessions will include comprehensive debates on the first two formulas. The ‘Activist is the Leader’ session will address internal mechanisms to empower workers, including family empowerment and tech-enabled organisational tools. Later, from 4 PM to 6 PM, ‘Yuva Galam’ will be in focus, highlighting plans to address youth aspirations, job creation, investment attraction, and governance innovations.

On May 28, Mahanadu will pay homage to TDP founder NTR and continue in-depth deliberations on the developmental and welfare initiatives undertaken by the TDP-led NDA Government. The party’s vision for inclusive governance, rural empowerment, and long-term development will form the core of the day's resolutions.

With Mahanadu serving as a forum for strategic transformation and grassroots revival, the TDP leadership is confident the event will rejuvenate party ranks and sharpen its focus. This year's conclave, hosted in the politically significant Kadapa region, may well set the tone for the next chapter in TDP's storied journey.
